Sewer Line Repair in Annapolis & Anne Arundel County

A sewer line that keeps backing up may need more than another cleaning. Carter Quality Plumbing checks the symptoms, reviews the accessible line, and explains whether clearing the blockage or repairing a section of pipe makes sense.

Brian or a member of our team will explain the findings and provide a written estimate for the proposed work before you decide.

Does the line need cleaning or repair?

Cleaning can remove an accessible blockage. It cannot fix a broken connection, a damaged section of pipe, or a line that holds water because of its condition. Repeated backups are a reason to investigate the cause before deciding on another cleaning or a repair.

We ask which fixtures are affected, how often the problem returns, the age of the home, and whether you have an earlier sewer inspection report. A camera inspection can help us assess visible conditions in the accessible line. We explain what we can see and whether more access or clearing is needed to assess it.

If clearing is the appropriate first step, see our drain cleaning services. If we identify a damaged section, we can explain the repair options separately.

Roots blocked this Annapolis sewer line

Roots had blocked the sewer line at this Annapolis home. Our team excavated the affected section, completed a spot repair, and installed a new cleanout. The work restored flow through the line.

A spot repair addresses a specific section of pipe. It does not replace the entire sewer line. We review the findings and the condition of the accessible piping before explaining whether that approach fits the problem at your home.

What to expect from CQP

  1. Start with the history and access

Tell us which drains are backing up and what has already been tried. We review available cleanouts and discuss whether cleaning, a camera inspection, or other access is needed.

  2. Review the findings and written estimate

We explain the problem we have identified and the proposed work. Your estimate describes the section to be repaired, access or excavation, piping connections, and testing included.

  3. Complete the approved repair and test

We remove the affected section included in the scope, install the replacement piping, make the connections, and test drainage. A new cleanout can be included when specified in the approved estimate.

Know what is included before the work starts

Sewer repairs vary with the location, access, and condition of the existing pipe. The estimate identifies the plumbing work and any excavation, backfill, or rough grading included. Permit requirements and fees will be addressed in the estimate.

Final landscaping, planting, and surface restoration are not included unless stated in the written scope. If opening the area reveals additional damage or a wider piping problem, we discuss the additional work and price before proceeding.

The written estimate identifies warranty coverage for the approved repair. Existing piping outside the repair is not covered.

Frequently asked questions

Can a camera inspection tell whether my sewer needs repair?

A camera inspection can help us assess visible blockages and pipe conditions in the accessible line. We explain the findings, any limits to the inspection, and whether cleaning, further investigation, or a repair should be considered.

Does a sewer spot repair replace the whole line?

No. A spot repair replaces a defined section. The estimate identifies the repair area and connections. If the accessible line shows a wider problem, we explain that before recommending the scope.

Will drain cleaning fix a damaged sewer pipe?

Cleaning may restore flow by removing a blockage, but it does not correct a damaged pipe or connection. We discuss a separate repair when the findings support it. Read more about our drain cleaning approach.

Do you repair the yard after excavation?

Your estimate states the backfill and rough grading included. Final landscaping and surface restoration are not included unless specified. We discuss those boundaries before the work begins.
